Hi-Res Objects
Hi-Res object imaging involves capturing 36 frames of an object using a special computer controlled rig and a high resolution digital camera. The process is similar to conventional object imaging where the images acquired are used to generate the effect of rotating an object on the screen. Hi-Res object imaging takes this step further by retaining the high resolution images acquired by the camera, while keeping download time to a minimum. This is achieved by downloading the higher resolution frames only when the viewer requests them.
Controlling the viewer is easy: simply click on the image and drag the mouse left and right to rotate. Use the mouse wheel or the +/- buttons on the keyboard to zoom-in and zoom-out and use the navigation buttons (displayed at the bottom right when zoomed-in) to view the rest of the current frame. The image will initially appear pixelated as the hi-res image is downloaded from the server. As soon as the hi-res version is downloaded, you'll be able to view the finer details of the object.
We have developed the tools to produce and host object images for a range of items of any size. Integrating the objects on your website requires just 3 lines of code and we can offer 3 viewer sizes (small, medium, large) with or without toolbar. Please see the gallery below for samples.
